Snail Power was founded in Milan, Italy, in 1995 by the noted professional audio designer Steven. That same year it launched the U1 living-room cinema speaker, whose "small cabinet, big energy" won coverage from many media outlets.
In 2009 Snail Power speakers developed rapidly in China, praised for "small cabinet, big energy" and for a sound with "sweet highs, smooth mids, full bass".

In 2019 the IW3 won the AV Ultimate annual popularity award, and in the same year the U4-II took the AV Ultimate overall strength award.
